Winter is hard on irrigation, and the first spring run is when hidden damage shows up. Frequently asked questions
When should I turn my sprinklers on in spring?
In the Cincinnati area, April through May — after the last hard frost. Turning the system on too early risks a freeze catching charged lines. We watch the timing so you don't have to.
How much does spring start-up cost?
We quote spring start-up up front based on your system size, and confirm the price before we start. Ask for a free estimate.
Why not just turn it on myself?
You can — but opening the valve too fast sends a pressure spike through cold pipes and is a common cause of springtime line breaks. A proper start-up charges the system slowly and checks every zone while we're there.
Can you fix problems you find during start-up?
Yes. If we spot a broken head or leak, we'll quote it flat on the spot and, in most cases, fix it the same visit.
Do you also do backflow testing at start-up?
We can. Spring is a convenient time to knock out your required annual backflow test in the same trip — just add it when you book.
